  4. I read Enchanted #1 and it was very good. I wish I would have bought them all when I was there. I’ll buy them online once I get my new debt card πŸ™‚

    • Thank you! We sold out of Chapters 1 and 2. I will restock in time for AnimeFest as well. You can order online at comixpress.com. Just a note though that its print on demand, so it takes about a month or more for them to print it and ship it to you. Thanks for buying my work!

  5. Hannah says:

I was wondering, what color are Brooke’s skirt and socks/shoes in Enchanted? I bought Enchanted at AnimeFest 2011 and A-Kon 2012 and I want to cosplay as Brooke at AnineFest 2012. Thanks. πŸ™‚

I just got done reading every manga page on your site, and I can’t wait to see more. I haven’t found a good place for the picture you drew of me just yet, but I will eventually. I hope your voice acting career goes well and that I see an entry for you over at the “Behind the Voice Actors” website.

    • Thanks so much! I really liked your duct tape hat. Very creative. =) I hope to be on Behind the Voice Actors as well. Hopefully with enough dedication and practice I will continue to improve. Thanks for checking out my site!

I wanted to thank you for your art. I seen you at Comic Con Tyler. My daughter was very pleased with the drawing you did of her. I purchased one of the large pictures like the one on your business cards. I have had more positive comments than I can remember. It is now proudly framed and hanging in my home.

Great work Kristen. I watched the Haganai NEXT episodes last night, and it was a lot of fun hearing a familiar voice in a show. Next I’ll have to watch through Ben-To and wait for the Date A Live episodes to come out.

I can’t wait until you get your first big part. It’ll happen, and it will be very exciting.

Hi i cant wait to meet you at the arlington library june 28th!

  15. Sam says:

I know you probably don’t have time to reply to this but I was just wondering if you have any tips on creating your own manga and becoming an artist professionally; I’m very serious about getting into the anime/manga world as a career but have no clue where to go or how to get there and any advice would mean the world =^.^=

    • Hi Sam,

Thanks for checking out my page! One tip that I give everyone is that to be a comic book artist, you have to draw a comic book. I’m sure you’re reading this and saying, “Well, duh!” but I’ve seen a lot of portfolios of comic artists over the years that didn’t have a single page of comics in it. Pin ups are fun to draw, but telling a story with panels is a lot different than drawing a pretty picture. A great book that I recommend is “Draw Manga” by Bruce Lewis. It is one of the best manga drawing books I’ve ever read.

Anyway, don’t be afraid to start small. Decide that maybe you’ll make a ten page story. It can be about whatever you want. I like to write my stories first, complete thumbnails, and then do the pencils based off of my already completed thumbnails. Then you can ink or tone those (I use Manga Studio EX 5) or just ink it with some Micron pens. I use Ka-Blam to print my books because they are Print on Demand and don’t require a minimum order amount. Then you buy a table at an upcoming convention and start selling your wares.

Really though, just completing a comic is a step in the right direction. Every page you draw will help you practice and become better, so don’t give up! I hope that helps!

  16. Stephanie Hankins says:

I am so proud of you. I still have your enchanted comic you autographed for my son when you worked at Mothers.

  17. Jenn says:

How many books did you print for your first convention? What was the next step after that?

    • Hi! I printed 60 copies for our first convention. We didn’t sell but about 25 or 30, so I had a little stock left over for the next con. After that we would always reorder so we would have at least 50 comics on hand. I usually did this with the money that we made from sales. Once you get a little bit of a fan base going you can sell prints and buttons with your comic characters on them and get a little extra income that way.

    • Hi Heather!

I often teach classes at local libraries which are usually free to attendees, and I usually give panels on drawing when I attend conventions. If you are interested in having me coming to your location to teach a class, you can e-mail me at kriscomics (at) gmail.com and I will be happy to e-mail you my rate. =)

  27. DragZilla Cano says:

Hi Kristen, I am a game developer, I was wondering if I could use one of your sprite characters, I don’t know the name of your sprite character, I saw it on Deviant art..she has light brown hair, she has a pony tail hairstyle with a purple ribbon matching with her purple shirt, she has white earrings and I can’t tell if she has very light green eyes or gray eyes. I wanna ask you permission first before I use it. contact me if you can πŸ™‚

    – DragZilla

    • Hi Dragzilla,

I apologize for taking so long to get back to you, somehow this comment has been marked as spam by WordPress. Unfortunately I am going to have to say no. I would suggest actually hiring a sprite artist, there are many quality artists for hire in the deviant art forums. Not only will you be able to get a character tailored specifically to your game, you can get several characters so all of the art will match. I hope that helps and best of luck on your venture!

  28. LanChi says:

  33. Patrick says:

I liked how you voiced Cleveland in the Azur Lane Anime but more people disliked the English dub because of a lot of reasons. It’s so lonely liking English dub Anime. I can’t say it out loud because a lot of people will hate me and my life would be over. I feel so lonely liking the English dub of Azur Lane. I’ve been keeping this a secret from everyone because I feel like there is no one in the Azur Lane community to trust at all. I feel like I will always be lonely liking English dub Anime and with no one to trust at all. This is pretty much what I have to say here.
